Tell us a little about your family, where you are from, how long you have lived in North Riverside: My family moved to North Riverside from Oak Park in 2005. My wife, Dina, teaches 6th grade in Berwyn. We have a small travel trailer and enjoy camping three seasons a year.
I would love to tell you about these things at the library: Camping, our Airedale Terrier (Winston), the library.
I think the library is essential to our community because: The library is a place that has something that will be of interest to just about everyone, and it’s open to all. Anyone who’s thinking the library is just a repository for books, videos and audio recordings hasn’t been in ours for years!
I love doing … at the library/my favorite way to use the library is: It’s a simple thing, but at the library, I still very much enjoy sitting among shelves of books in a quiet place…reading.
I wanted to become a Board member because: At work, I had just finished a detailed community survey for a suburban library, so I knew more than most incoming trustees about library problems and opportunities. The Board vacancy I filled seemed like a good fit and a great way to serve the community.
